Nov. 7 Championship Game

     The Eden Parks & Rec. Dept. had its Midget Bowl Games at Morehead High School Football Stadium. 

     In the Midget League Action, the Reidsville Redskins downed the Steelers 13-0 to win the Rockingham County North Star championship.  Bryan Parker led the Redskins on scoring runs of 10 and 27 yard runs.  Keyshawn Watkins added the point after.  Cale Davis had a good game for the Steelers on defense. 

     The Reidsville Cowboys downed the Alcan Packers 21-0.  Shalik Fountain scored on a 50 yard run as Kevin Cobb added the point after.  Austyn Chestnut recorded an interception.  Justin Jackson ran for  a three-yard TD and Cobb added the extra point.  Austyn Chestnut scored on a 5 yard carry as Jackson added the extra point.  Leading the way for the Packers was Devin Martin, Daunte King, Patrick Barnett, and Jadakiss jumper. 

     In the last game of the day, The Piedmont Replacement Vikings downed the BGC Wright Co. Redskins 19-0.  Jhriek Lowe scored on a 20 yard carry as Shaquan Lowe added the extra point.  Jhriek Lowe completed a pass to Quan Walker for a 5 yard touchdown.  Mike Jones ran for a 85 yard touchdown to end the game.  Benjamin Langley led the Vikings on defense.  Caron Hunter and Jeremy Stewart led the Redskins.

 

Playoff Championship Games Nov. 4

     The Redskins pulled out a dramatic 13-12 win over the Cowboys in the playoff championship game of the Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department’s Midget League football playoffs Wednesday at Community Stadium.

     Noel Cook scored a touchdown from the three on a fourth down play and Keyshawn Watkins got the conversion.

     Shalik Fountain scored on a five-yard run for the Cowboys only to see the conversion fail to end the game.

     Kevin Cobb had given the Cowboys a 6-0 lead in the first quarter that lasted until Bryan Parker scored on a 30-yard run in the fourth quarter for the Redskins.

     The Cowboys had one final drive that ended at the Redskin one-yard line as time expired in regulation.

      Kashus Galloway, Jason Brown, Justin Totten, Wanya Enoch, , Tre’Von Brown, Curtis Smalls, Cook, and Watkins played well on defense for the Redskins.

     Fountain, Cobb, Justin Jackson, Josh Jeffries, Quiron Johnson, Aron Dickerson, and Jesse Kellum all played well for the Cowboys.

Saturday's (October 31) Playoff Games

     The Redskins and Cowboys advanced to the Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department's Midget League playoff championship with wins Saturday.

     The Redskins beat the Vikings 25-12 and the Cowboys downed the Steelers 22-6. Those two will meet in the Reidsville championship at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Community Stadium with the winner playing the Eden champion Nov. 7 at Morehead High School.

Redskins 25 Vikings 12

     Bryan Parker had two long touchdown runs in the first quarter for the Redskins while Noel Cook and Curtis Smalls added one score apiece.

     Keyshwn Watkins had a conversion run.

     Zach Welch and Cameron Hairston had touchdowns for the Vikings and Damion Hairston recovered a fumble.

Cowboys 22, Steelers 6

     Kevin Cobb scored a touchdown and extra point to help lead the Cowboys.

     Shalik Fountain and Josh Jeffries also scored touchdowns.

     Justice Fonseca had a pass interception.

     Davian Gibson scored on a 75-yard kickoff return for the Steelers and Rashard Luke had a pass interception.

Saturday's (October 24) Games

     The Reidsville Vikings recorded a 14-0 win over the Eden Packers in a Rockingham County  North Star Midget League football game Saturday at Community Stadium.

     In other games, the Reidsville Redskins blanked the Wright Company Redskins 27-0, the Reidsville Cowboys drubbed the Piedmont Joint Replacement Vikings 39-6, and the Eden Steelers edged the Reidsville Steelers 7-6.

Vikings 14

     C.J. Hairston recovered a fumble in the end zone for one touchdown and added a 64-yard scoring run in the second half for the Vikings.

     Zach Welch and Franklin Hart had conversion runs.

     Ben Evans also had a fumble recovery for the Vikings while Marcus Melendez-Bailey, Cameron Hairston, Cameron Brown, and Matthew Denning had good games as well.

     Jadakiss Jumper, Patrick Barnett, Daunte King, Marqua Dillard, Stephen Holland, and Chase Stultz (fumble) had good games for the Packers.

Redskins 27

Wright Company 0

     The Reidsville Redskins remained undefeated with the shutout win over the Wright Company Redskins.

     Curtis Smalls scored twice for the Redskins and Keyshawn Watkins and Bryan Parker also scored. Smalls, Watkins, and Corey Blackwell had extra points.

     Watkins also recovered a fumble.

     Kashus Galloway, Steven Rawlings, Wanya Enoch, and Jason Brown also played well.

     Caron Hunter, Tyler McCarver, Zack Sedwick, and Austin Dishmon had good games for Wright Company.

Cowboys 39

Vikings 6

     Justin Jackson scored two touchdowns for the Cowboys and Shalik Fountain, Kevin Cobb, and Austyn Chestnut scored one each. Jackson also threw a TD pass to Jaquan Troxler.

     Lemar Lee, Cobb, and Jackson had conversion runs.

     Chestnut had two interceptions and Fountain one pick and a fumble recovery.

     Aron Dickerson, Jesse Kellum, and Jeremy Moricle had good games on defense.

     Jhreik Lowe scored for the Vikings while Ben Langley and Malik Dillard played well.

Eden Steelers 7

Reidsville Steelers 6

     Will Dabbs scored on a six-yard run and Ben Bullins got the conversion run late in the game to lift Eden.

     Davian Gibson had a scoring run for Reidsville.

     Malik Fultz recovered a fumble for Reidsville while Kendrick Alverson and William McCain also had good games.

     Zach Stanley recovered a fumble for Eden and Cale Davis and Corbin Watson also contributed to the win.

Tuesday's (October 20) Games

     The Reidsville Redskins clinched the regular season championship of the Rockingham County North Star Midget Football League Tuesday with a 26-7 win over the Reidsville Steelers at Community Stadium.

     In the other game played Tuesday, the Reidsville Cowboys edged the Reidsville Vikings 12-6.

     Keyshawn Watkins scored touchdowns on runs of 3, 4, and 25 yards to lead the Redskins.

     Corey Blackwell also scored a touchdown while Bryan Parker and Curtis Smalls had extra point runs.

     Camron McGee had an interception while Kashus Galloway, Jason Brown, Justin Totten, and Steve Rawlings had good games.

K.J. Galloway scored on an eight-yard run for the Steelers and Kendrick Alverson had a conversion run.

     Also playing well for the Steelers were Wanya Blackstock, William McCain, Robert Collins, and Brandon Lee.

Cowboys 12

Vikings 6

     Shalik Fountain returned the second half kickoff 65 yards for what proved to be the winning touchdown for the Cowboys.

     Justin Jackson also had a scoring run.

     Jesse Kellum recovered a fumble and Josh Jeffries, Aron Dickerson, and Jaques Fonseca played well for the Cowboys.

Cameron Hairston had a 50-yard fumble return for the Vikings. Hairston also had an interception.

     Also playing well for the Vikings were Josh Wyant, Zach Welch, Ben Evans, Johnnie Foster, and C.J. Hairston.

Saturday's (October 17) Games

Tuesday's (October 13) Games

     Jeremy Eleby-Jones threw a 62-yard touchdown pass to Davian Gibson with 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter to rally the Steelers to a wild 19-15 win over the Vikings in a Rockingham County North Star Midget League football game Tuesday at Community Stadium.

     In the other game, the Redskins remained undefeated with a 12-0 decision over the Cowboys.

Steelers 19

     The Steelers led 13-7 after Kendrick Alverson scored on a 40-yard pass from Jones in the third quarter and Gibson ran in the conversion.

     But, the Vikings recorded a safety on a tackle in the end zone by Zach Welch and then took a 15-13 lead on a 16-yard pass from Jalen Foster to C.J. Hairston with 1:10 left in the game.

     On the ensuing possession, Gibson hauled in a pass from Jones and rambled 62 yards for the winning score.

     Gibson also had a 27-yard scoring run in the first quarter.

     Hairston had a 27-yard run for the Vikings and Cameron   Hairston had a conversion run.

     Jeremy Eleby-Jones had a fumble recovery for the Steelers while Cameron Hairston had an interception and fumble recovery for the Vikings.

     Also playing well for the Steelers were Brandon Lee, Zach English, Kenneth Galloway, and Justin Bolden.

     The Vikings got solid play from Marcus Melendez-Bailey, Johnnie Foster, Josh Wyant, and Cameron Brown.

Redskins 12

Cowboys 0

     The Redskins moved to 6-0 with the win over the Cowboys.

     Curtis Smalls scored on a three-yard run in the first half and Noel Cook added a two-yard run in the third quarter for the Redskins.

     Smalls, Cook, Steven Rawlings, Kashus Galloway, Wanya Enoch, Justin Totten, and Shaundrell Richardson played well for the Redskins on defense.

     Austyn Chestnut had an interception for the Cowboys and Jeremy Moricle recovered a fumble.

     Also playing well for the Cowboys were Shalik Fountain, Josh Jeffries, Justin Jackson, Jaquan Troxler, Aron Dickerson, Jesse Kellum, Lemar Lee, and Jordan Pickard.

Saturday's (October 10) Games

     The Reidsville Redskins recorded a 20-0 win over the Alcan Packers in a Rockingham County North Star Midget League football game Saturday at Community Stadium.

     In other games, the Eden Steelers rallied for a 14-7 win over the Reidsville Cowboys, the Reidsville Steelers downed the Piedmont Joint Replacement Vikings 18-7, and the Reidsville Vikings whipped the Wright Company Redskins 21-6.

Reidsville Redskins 20

Alcan Packers 0

     Bryan Parker scored on a 47-yard run and Keyshawn Watkins added a 57-yard run in the first half for the Redskins. Curtis Smalls closed out the scoring with a 67-yard run in the second half.

     Watkins and Smalls had conversions.

     Corey Blackwell had an interception for the Redskins and Watkins and Jaquan Hairston recovered fumbles. Also playing well on defense were Shaundrell Richardson, Justin Totten, Wanya Enoch, Jason Brown, and Smalls.

     Jadakiss Jumper, Duante King, Patrick Barnett, and Deandre Graves played well for the Packers.

Eden Steelers 14

Reidsville Cowboys 7

     Will Dabbs threw a 95-yard touchdown pass to Angel Zarate and then added the conversion late in the second half to lift the Steelers.

     Kyle Corum also scored on a 35-yard run and Dabbs added another extra point for Eden.

     Corum, Cale Davis, Corbin Watson (INT), Jay Zarate, and Zach Stanley (fumble) also played well for the Steelers.

     Justin Jackson threw a TD pass to Austyn Chestnut and Jesse Kellum had a conversion run for the Cowboys.

     Lemar Lee, Shalik Fountain, and Kellum all played well for the Cowboys.

Reidsville Steelers 18

Eden Vikings 7

     William McCain had an 80-yard run and Davian Gibson a 15-yard run to give the Reidsville Steelers a 12-0 halftime lead. Josh Eleby-Jones added another TD in the second half.

     Ryan Cobb and McCain had fumble recoveries and Joey Blackstock had an interception for the Steelers. Khalila Long also played well on defense for Reidsville.

     Jhreik Lowe had a touchdown and conversion for the Vikings. Darius Broadnax and Shaquan Lowe had fumble recoveries for Eden while Ben Langley and Mike Jones also played well.

Reidsville Vikings 21

Wright Company Redskins 6

     Jalen Foster scored two touchdowns on runs of 25 and 35 yards to lead the Vikings.

     Zach Welch had a rushing touchdown and two extra points and Cameron Hairston added a conversion run.

     Foster also had a fumble recovery. Ben Evans, C.J. Hairston, and Marcus Melendez-Bailey also played well for the Vikings.

     Caron Hunter scored on a 70-yard run for the Redskins who also got good play from Jeremy Stewart and Austin Dishmon.

Wednesday's (October 7) Games

     In Midget League games at Community Stadium Thursday night, the Cowboys edged the Steelers 7-6 and the Redskins downed the Vikings 19-6.

     Shalik Fountain scored on a 25-yard pass from Justin Jackson and then ran in the conversion to lift the Cowboys.

     Kenneth Galloway scored on an 11-yard pass from Jeremy Jones late in the fourth quarter but the conversion failed.

    Fountain and Lemar Lee recovered fumbles for the Cowboys and Jackson had an interception.

 

Redskins 19

Vikings 6

     Bryan Parker, Curtis Smalls, and Noel Cook had rushing touchdowns for the Redskins and Keyshaun Watkins had a conversion run.

     Zach Welch scored on a six-yard run for the Vikings.

Saturday's (October 3) Games

     The Reidsville Vikings won a 13-6 double overtime thriller over the Eden Vikings in a Rockingham County North Star Midget league football game Saturday at Morehead High School.

     In other inter-league games, the Reidsville Cowboys whipped the Wright Company Redskins 27-6, the Reidsville Steelers blanked the Alcan Packers 12-0, and the Reidsville Redskins downed the Eden Steelers 12-6.

Reidsville Vikings 13

     Zach Welch scored on a 10-yard run and Jalen Foster recovered a fumble in the end zone in the second overtime for the Vikings, who held Eden on downs on the final series to secure the win.

     Welch also scored on a seven-yard run in the first overtime before Jhreik Lowe scored from the nine for Eden to force the extra session.

     Cameron Hairston, Cameron Brown, Marcus Melendez-Bailey, Franklin Hart, C.J. Hairston, Bryson Durham, and Welch all played well for Reidsville.

     Lowe, Malik Dillard, Ben Langley, Daniel Bates, Jordan Lane, and Anthony Harvey had good games for Eden.

Reidsville Cowboys 27

Wright Redskins 6

     Jesse Kellum, Shalik Fountain, and Austyn Chestnut scored rushing TDs for the Cowboys and Jaquan Troxler caught a 48-yard touchdown pass from Justin Jackson. Jackson, Fountain, and Josh Jeffries had conversion runs.

     Caron Hunter scored on an 84-yard run for Wright Company.

Jackson, Jeffries, Lemar Lee, Jacques Fonseca, Justice Fonseca, Aron Dickerson, and Brian Blackwell had good games on defense for Reidsville.

     Tyler Dalton, Jeremy Stewart, Nick Whitsett, and Jordan Service played well for Eden.

Reidsville Steelers 12

     Jeremy Eleby threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Kendrick Alverson and then ran one in from 47 yards to lead the Steelers.

Alverson (INT), Khalila Long (fumble), K.J. Galloway, Robert Collins, and Davian Gibson played well on defense for the Steelers.

     Chase Stultz, Jadakiss Jumper, Cody Muncy, and DeAndre Graves had good games for the Packers.

Reidsville Redskins 12

Eden Steelers 6

     Bryan Parker’s 63-yard run and a 30-yard run by Curtis Smalls gave the Redskins a 12-0 lead before Kyle Corum caught a 30-yard scoring pass from Corbin Watson in the final two minutes to set the final score.

     Smalls, Parker, Kashus Galloway, Noel Cook, Keyshawn Hampton, Steven Rawlings, and Shaundrell Richardson had good games on defense for the Redskins.

     Will Dabbs (fumble), Ben Bullins (fumble), Jay Zarate, Zach Stanley, and Tyshun Olverson played well for the Steelers.

Tuesday's (September 29) Games

     The Steelers scored a late touchdown to pull out a 6-0 win over the Vikings in a Rockingham County North Star Midget League football game Tuesday at Community Stadium.

     In the other game, the Redskins held on for a 6-4 win over the Cowboys.

     Davian Gibson returned an interception 60 yards with one minute left in the game to allow the Steelers to escape with the win.

     Khalila Long, William McCain, Wanya Blackstock, Josh Eleby-Jones, and Jeremy Eleby-Jones played well on defense.

     Ben Evans and Damien Hairston had a fumble recoveries for the Vikings. C.J. Hairston and Marcus Melendez-Bailey also played well on defense.

Redskins 6

Cowboys 4

     The Redskins survived two safeties and a late Cowboy push to escape with the win.

     Bryan Parker scored the lone touchdown on an 86-yard run for the Redskins.

     Corey Blackwell had an interception for the Redskins and Noel Cook recovered a fumble.

     Curtis Smalls, Steven Rawlings, Kashus Galloway, and Justin Totten also played well for the Redskins.

     The Cowboy defense recorded two safeties. Also playing well for the Cowboys were Josh Jeffries, Shalik Fountain, Austyn Chestnut, Jeremy Moricle, and Aron Dickerson.

Saturday's (September 26) Games

     The Redskins scored a late touchdown to rally for a 7-6 win over the Steelers in a Rockingham County North Star Midget League football game Saturday at Reidsville Community Stadium.

      In the other game played Saturday, the Cowboys blanked the Vikings 7-0.

     In games from Eden, the Eden Packers beat the Eden Vikings 6-2 and the Eden Steelers whipped the Boys & Girls Club Redskins 27-6.

     Bryan Parker scored on  31-yard run and Keyshawn Watkins ran in the conversion in the fourth quarter to lift the Redskins.

Watkins also recovered a fumble.

     Kendrick Alverson scored on a 25-yard pass in the second quarter for the Steelers.

     Khalila Long and Wanya Blackstock recovered fumbles for the Steelers.

Cowboys 7

Vikings 0

     Austyn Chestnut broke free on a 50-yard run and Josh Jeffries had the conversion to carry the Cowboys.

     Jeffries also recovered a fumble.
