Street Closing Procedure

What is the procedure for temporarily closing a City street for a parade or special event? First, you must secure a permit by contacting the City Manager's Office at 349-1030. Copies of the City's Parades and Special Events Ordinance, List of Available City Venues and Permit Applications are available in the office located in Reidsville City Hall, 230 W. Morehead Street, or online in our Document Center, along with a Waiver form. (Hard copies can be obtained by calling the City Manager's Office at 349-1030.)

Applications to close temporarily a City street must be filed with the City Manager at least 30 calendar days and not more than 180 days before the date of the proposed event. If a request is denied, the applicant may appeal to the City Council, which will require a special meeting that must be advertised at least 48 hours in advance of the Council meeting.
