The primary function of the Reidsville Police Department Animal Control is to protect the safety of our citizens and ensure the well-being and humane treatment of the domesticated animal population within the City. The primary goals of the Animal Control Program are to:
- Enforce the animal control laws by apprehending stray domesticated animals running at large.
- Provide informational services to the public concerning animal control and proper treatment of animals.
- Reduce the threat of rabies in the city by sponsoring rabies clinics.
- Answer and resolve all citizen calls related to suspected animal cruelty violations.
Assist the public with nuisance wildlife animals in accordance with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.
