The Pro-Care Program is a computer-based telephone call reassurance program. The program allows citizens who live alone or stay alone such as the elderly, handicapped, disabled, latchkey-children and others to sign up for service. Individuals who have signed up for the service will receive telephone calls each day to check on their well-being. This is a computer generated telephone call and if the call is not answered, a police officer or a firefighter will go to the residence and check on the individual. This is available for the elderly, disabled or handicapped, latchkey-children, and anyone else who needs a regular telephone call to check on their well-being. For anyone interested in signing up for this free service, contact the Captain of the Community Policing Division at 336-347-2312.
